Latest Raiders News
Collin Johnson : Gets chance with Raiders
Las Vegas signed Johnson to a contract Thursday. Johnson appeared in nine regular-season games with the Bears in 2024, ending the year as the team's No. 4 wide receiver, but he was targeted just twice over that stretch. The 2020 fifth-round pick, who has also logged action with the Jaguars and Giants, now faces an opportunity to carve out a depth role with the Raiders.
Sincere McCormick : In mix for depth role behind rookie
McCormick is expected to compete for a depth role behind rookie sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. McCormick has presumably recovered from the ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve to finish the 2024 season. Prior to getting hurt, McCormick filled in capably as a starter, rushing for 64 yards in Week 13 and 78 yards in Week 14. The 24-year-old running back likely will slide down a couple pegs on the depth chart following the additions of Jeanty in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and veteran Raheem Mostert in free agency. McCormick may be competing for a roster spot with Zamir White, who was sidelined by a quadriceps injury to finish the 2024 season.
Zamir White : In mix behind star rookie
White is expected to compete for a depth role behind rookie sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. Jeanty's expected to take on a workhorse role out of the gate, and free-agent signing Raheem Mostert is better suited to playing in pass-catching situations than White, who has just 21 catches through three NFL seasons. White has presumably recovered from the quadriceps injury that sidelined him after Week 11 in 2024, but he's unlikely to meaningfully challenge Jeanty for early-down work considering White averaged just 2.8 yards per carry in 2024. Sincere McCormick (ankle), Dylan Laube and Chris Collier also will compete for roles in Vegas' backfield.
Raheem Mostert : Falls behind Jeanty
Mostert will be joined by No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty in a new-look Raiders backfield. The Raiders never figured to settle for 33-year-old Mostert as their lead back, unchallenged, but there was at least some chance he'd compete to be 1A in a committee. He instead figures to be purely a backup, behind one of the best RB prospects in recent memory. The good news for Mostert is weak competition for backup roles, with the Raiders otherwise rostering Zamir White (quadriceps), Sincere McCormick (ankle), Dylan Laube and Chris Collier.
Qadir Ismail : Lands in Las Vegas
The Raiders signed Ismail (undisclosed) to a contract Thursday. Ismail joins Las Vegas as a reserve option at tight end, bolstering the team's depth mere hours before the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off. He spent last season on the Ravens' practice squad after going undrafted out of Samford, but he missed the last half of the year due to an undisclosed injury sustained mid-October.
Kolton Miller : Seeking new contract
Miller is not participating in Las Vegas' voluntary offseason workouts as he seeks a contract extension, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Miller is headed into the final year of a three-year, $54.015 million contract extension he signed prior to the start of the 2021 campaign. His $18 million average annual salary puts Miller as the 13th-highest-paid left tackle in the league, and the 29-year-old wants a refreshed deal after he started all 17 games last season. The Raiders have the third-most available cap space in the NFL, but it's unclear how the new regime of GM John Spytek and coach Pete Carroll view Miller as he heads into his eighth pro season.
Charles Snowden : Remaining in Las Vegas
The Raiders re-signed Snowden on Monday. Snowden was an exclusive rights free agent, and he'll return for a second year in Vegas. The 27-year-old started in nine of the 16 games in which he played last season, finishing with 39 tackles (18 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and four pass breakups. Snowden will likely be used in a rotational role next season if Malcolm Koonce (knee) and Maxx Crosby (ankle) are ready to suit up by the time the campaign kicks off, as expected.
Jack Jones : Likely to part ways with Vegas
The Raiders are expected to trade or release Jones, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Jones worked as a starter throughout last season, posting career-high marks in tackles (69), pass defenses (16) and interceptions (three). He also recorded his fourth career touchdown on a pick-six in Week 9. However, he also drew some criticism about his perceived effort after missing multiple tackles in a game early in the campaign and has dealt with several off-the-field legal incidents both in college and as a pro. Jones has one year remaining on the four-year contract he signed with the Patriots as a rookie ahead of the 2022 campaign.
