Johnson (knee) said Tuesday he feels "completely" healthy to begin the Cardinals' voluntary offseason workout program, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports. Johnson earned a Pro Bowl alternate nod in 2024 despite having his season end early due to a knee injury sustained Week 15, but he's fully healthy for the start of offseason conditioning activities. The 2023 first-round pick expressed optimism that being allowed to remain at the same position (left tackle) in back-to-back seasons for the first time since high school will help him take another step forward, per Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com. As a rookie in 2023, Johnson was asked to start at right tackle.
Dortch signed his one-year restricted free-agent tender Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Dortch was extended a tender by Arizona back in March, and he now officially re-signs with the team on the one-year deal worth $3.3 million. He played all 17 games with the Cardinals last season, securing 37 of 50 targets for 342 yards and three touchdowns. Now heading into his fifth consecutive year with Arizona, Dortch is again positioned for a role on offense behind Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson.
Murray said Wednesday during an interview with PHNX Sports that he feels as though the season-ending knee injury he sustained in 2023 "never happened" and that he's "open to running more next year," Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports. Murray said that his knee injury lingered at times during the 2024 season, but that with another healthy offseason under his belt, he doesn't anticipate being hampered at all moving forward. "I do feel like I have to run more next year," Murray said, comparing his dual-threat capabilities at full health to those of Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. The 27-year-old had a career-low 4.6 rushing attempts per game in 2024, though he was efficient on the ground, scoring five times and averaging a career-best 7.1 YPC. If Murray is indeed comfortable rushing more next season, and potentially able to develop improved chemistry with 2024 first-round pick Marvin Harrison, Arizona's offense will be primed to take a step forward next season.
McBride agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. McBride thus is under contract with Arizona through the 2029 season. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 25 year-old's $76 million deal includes $43 million guaranteed and an average annual value of $19 million, the highest ever for any NFL tight end. This past season, the 2022 second-rounder caught a career-high 111 passes (on 147 targets) for 1,146 yards and two TDs in 16 regular-season contests, a level of production that makes him an elite fantasy option at his position ahead of the upcoming NFL campaign.
Campbell agreed to a one-year deal with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Campbell, who turns 39 in September, started all 17 regular-season games for the Dolphins last season en route to recording 52 tackles and 5.0 sacks. In his return to the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Campbell will add valuable depth and experience to Arizona's defensive line this coming season. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Campbell's deal is for $5.5 million and has a maximum value of $7.5 million.
Vokolek signed his tender with the Cardinals on Monday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. The one-year contract offer was the only one available to the tight end since he was an exclusive rights free agent. Vokolek appeared in one game and on four offensive snaps last season with the Cardinals, and he has yet to record a catch across three NFL appearances over the last two seasons. The Nebraska product likely will have to compete for a role as a depth tight end and special teamer in 2025.
Jones (shoulder) signed with the Cardinals on Thursday after going untendered by the Bears, Jess Root of the USA Today Network reports. The restricted free agent played his first three seasons with Chicago, seeing more special-teams snaps than defensive snaps in each of the last two. In 2024, Jones suffered a shoulder injury in Week 9 that forced him out for the rest of the year and eventually required surgery. He finished the season with 15 tackles (13 solo) and two pass breakups.
