Porzingis contributed eight points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four rebounds over 14 minutes during Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Porzingis came off the bench as he continues to deal with an illness, logging fewer than 15 minutes for the second straight game. The star center missed eight games in early March due to illness, and it appears it is still bothering him. Boston now trails 2-0 with the series heading back to New York. While it is likely Porzingis will play in some capacity, it is unclear just how impactful he will be moving forward.

Latest Celtics News
Kristaps Porzingis : Limited again in Game 2 loss
Luke Kornet : Increased role Wednesday
Kornet posted six points (3-4 FG), eight rebounds and one block over 18 minutes during Wednesday's 91-90 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Kornet played a handful of extra minutes with Kristaps Porzingis continuing to struggle with an illness. The issue has been bothering Porzingis for more than a month now, meaning Kornet is going to have to stay ready. Both he and Al Horford will need to play better if the Celtics are to turn the series around, starting with Game 3 in New York on Saturday.
Jayson Tatum : Another rough night Wednesday
Tatum produced 13 points (5-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals in 42 minutes during Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Tatum was unable to get the job done, delivering a modest performance as the Celtics blew a 20-point lead against the Knicks. He had a chance to seal the victory but appeared to mismanage the clock, forcing up a questionable shot as opposed to simply attacking the basket when given the opportunity. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Boston will need to regroup ahead of Saturday's Game 3.
Derrick White : Drops 20 points in Game 2
White closed Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 20 points (6-17 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 40 minutes. After logging a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, White fell one board short of another double-double Wednesday. White averaged 12.6 field goal attempts per game during the regular season, but he's now taken at least 17 shots in back-to-back games. White tied for the team high in points and didn't commit a turnover.
Kristaps Porzingis : Bench role Wednesday
Porzingis will come off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Knicks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Porzingis will be in the second unit Wednesday for the first time during these NBA playoffs. The veteran scorer played only 13 minutes during Game 1 due to an illness, which has resulted in Al Horford replacing him in the starting lineup for Game 2.
Al Horford : Will start Game 2
Horford will be in the starting lineup for Game 2 against the Knicks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford will be a starter for the fifth time during this playoff run, as he will replace Kristaps Porzingis in the first unit. In the four previous starts, Horford has averaged 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, shooting 44.4 percent and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Sam Hauser : Ruled out Game 2
Hauser (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Knicks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Hauser suffered a right ankle sprain in Game 1, which will keep him sidelined for Game 2. Boston may have to use Baylor Scheierman, Jordan Walsh or Torrey Craig to shoulder the load off the bench.
Kristaps Porzingis : Cleared to play Game 2
Porzingis (illness) is available for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Knicks on Wednesday, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Porzingis played 13 minutes in Monday's Game 1 loss to New York and didn't see the court in the second half and overtime due to an illness. He was able to participate in Wednesday morning's shootaround and has been cleared to return for Game 2, though he'll come off the bench while Al Horford shifts to the starting lineup. Porzingis averaged 12.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.8 steals over 27.4 minutes during the Celtics' first-round series against the Magic. However, he connected on just 35.2 percent of his field-goal attempts (including 11.8 percent from three on 3.4 3PA/G).
