Sees increased snaps sans Johnson
Lewis finished Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals with 10 tackles (seven solo). Lewis saw increased action at nickel corner after Taron Johnson left in the first quarter of Sunday's game due to a forearm injury. Lewis took advantage of the extra playing time, and he finished second on the Bills in both combined and solo tackles behind linebacker Terrel Bernard. Johnson has already been ruled out for Week 2 against the Dolphins on Thursday, and Lewis will likely serve as the Bills' nickel corner for that contest.
Inks new deal
Lewis re-signed with the Bills on a two-year contract Monday. Lewis will remain in Buffalo after a 2023 campaign that saw him play a career-high 134 snaps on defense and 319 special-teams snaps in 17 contests. The 26-year-old will likely maintain a limited role on defense in 2024, but he'll work to carve out a larger role there during the team's offseason programs.
